KLA [Kit de Logistica Alimentaria]
Friday, November 19th, 19992nd prize at the ADI-FAD Industrial Design Awards for Spanish Young Designers. 1999
KLA [Kid de Logistica Alimentaria] / [Food Logistic kit]
The Project was developed in cooperation with the international non-profit-organization MSF (Doctors Without Borders) and it was about solving the problem of food distribution in refugees camps.
The problem: In refugee camps they distribute food in a week basis per family.
This means that they give large quantities of grain and rice that often is difficult to transport and store back t0 the tent.
The other problems is that normally, the food is collected with different sorts of containers (oil cans, water bottles, boxes…) this makes the process of distributinig the food very tedious. Besides that, if someone comes without enough containers, he/she can’t carry back the food that his/her family deserves…The solution: The product is a plastic base with a high resistant compartmented fabric container to collect, transport and store the food distributed in refugee camps.
